I am a sculptor I use the books to sculpt.
I cut into the pages and only take away the paper and cover. I don't add anything. I just remove parts of the book to make an image or figure.
I am a sculptor and I usually work in wood and one day I graded a dictionary and started carving into it.
I use an X-acto Knife to cut into the paper.
I love books.





Books are a mass produced product and in our society a throw away thing. You can deny it but you would be wrong. In most cases I am saving the book from the landfill.
I don't understand when someone complains about cutting into a book when there are 100,000 just like it.
Micangelo said 'David was in the stone I just removed the excess parts.' Well I would carve into a book Micangelo's David and see what is sculpture in him.
